The name assumed by a religious body constituted in Scotland in 1843, its originator being the Rev. James Morison of Kilmarnock, a minister of the United Secession Church, after whom the members of the body are often spoken of as Morisonians; they maintain the universality of the atonement, combining with this the doctrine of eternal, personal, and unconditional election, and denying that any one will be condemned for Adam's fall.
