The performance by which an impostor seeks to give the impression that he is a sufferer from epilepsy; usually an imitation of the paroxysm of epilepsia gravior. It may be detected by exposing the eye to a strong light, when the pupil will contract, whereas in genuine epilepsy it remains dilated.
