The Latins used the term Bronchus for the whole of the trachea; whilst they called its ramifications Bronchia. Bronchia, Bronchioe, and Bronchi, (F.) Broaches, now mean the two tubes, with their ramifications, which arise from the bifurcation of the trachea, and carry air into the lungs-Can'nuloe pulmo'num, Syrin'ges seu Cana'les aerif'eri.
