-
An instrument invented by Desault to cut any accidental brides or filaments in the rectum and bladder; and which he afterwards used for the removal of the tonsils. It is composed of a flat, silver sheath, open at one edge. This sheath is provided with a cutting blade, which can be forced through the opening, and thus all the parts can be divided with which it comes in contact.
