[Pers., Gr.] A title of the Dervishes. (See Sufism.) The kings of the dynasty preceding that which now occupies the Persian throne were also so called. (See Soofis.) The system of the Sofis seems to have many points of likeness with that of the Quietists.

- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
