A. An American editor and author; born about 1805; died in Brooklyn, N. Y., Dec. 21, 1863. He was editor of several newspapers, and author of: "A New System of Grammar" (1851); "The Quacks of Helicon" (1851); "The Life of De Soto" (1858); "Our Press Gang; or, An Exposition of the Corruptions of American Newspapers" (1859).
