That which makes the sun the centre of the motions of the planets, including the earth, and explains the apparent movements of the heavenly bodies by the rotation of the earth on her axis, and her motion round the sun in her orbit ; it was propounded by Aristarchus of Samos, in the third century B.C., and established by Copernicus, De Rev.
