A celebrated Swiss publicist and jurist; born at Couvet, Neuchatel, April 25, 1714; died Dec. 28, 1767. His great work is "The Law of Nations; or, Principles of the Law of Nature applied to the Affairs of Nations and Sovereigns" (2 vols., 1758). He wrote also: "Philosophical Leisure Hours" (1747); "Literary, Moral, and Political Miscellanies" (1757); "Questions of Natural Right; or, Observations on Wolf's Treatise on the Law of Nature" (1762).

- An enzyme that catalyzes the of groups from acetyl-CoA to arylamines. They have wide specificity for aromatic amines, particularly serotonin, and can also catalyze acetyl transfer between arylamines without CoA. EC 2.3.1.5.
