An English educator, poet, and journalist; born in London, March 16, 1799; died at Kensington, April 5, 1864. His journalistic work was done with the Manchester Courier, the London Standard, and the United Service Gazette. He edited a series of annual volumes, "Literary Souvenir" (1825-35). He published: "Poetical Sketches" (1822); and "Lyrics of the Heart" (1851).
